I’m in love with #jamaicakincaid . There I said it! Now with #asmallplace , I have read three of her books and they are simply spectacular. A Small Place feels a bit different: more #political , more direct (no filters applied!) and more like an #interpellation . #kincaid draws potent and vigorous connections between #tourism , #neocolonialism , internal #corruption and the injustice of keeping people in limbo for the sake of everyone’s pretty postcard. This #essay is quite the ride! She questions the readers. She demands questions to the visitors. She challenges the people of #antiguaandbarbuda . No one remains unscathed. Hurricane Kincaid comes in and in her path, she dismantles the tragedy we got addicted to.
