I came to #appleandknife by #intanparamadithaexpecting macabre and weird and nightmarish stories similar to #koreanlit or Uruguay’s #horacioquiroga or Argentina’s #samantaschweblin or Chile’s #linamerune . And it just doesn’t happen here. It felt like an incomplete version of #ekakurniawan . Don’t get me wrong. I think overall is not a bad #collection of #shortstories . Inevitably some are a lot better and more amusing than others. However, when they were not good, they were simply unpolished and not cohesive enough to my taste. I think it has to do with the pressure to make these stories part of the whole #horror genre.
