Compared to other recent examples #historicalfiction novels taking place in the #caribbean this is not a bad book. #antoni clearly has a skill at #storytelling However I think he was somehow aiming for an #adventure almost #indianajones like #romantic story here taking place at a times of #europeancolonialism in #trinidad Sounds like a captivating premise. I can’t pinpoint the exact reason why I don’t see him getting there at all.
