And this is my last mini-review of #jan2020 . Over the past couple of years, I have read a few books published by the American University in Cairo press #aucpressand they have all turned out to be excellent. #earthweepssaturnlaughs by #abdulazizalfarsi is no exception. A lot of themes happening in this book are probably something you have read somewhere else before: modernity vs. #traditions , urban growth vs. rural nostalgia, etc. The difference here is that #alfarsi has a way with words and how he has constructed the story. Embellished metaphors and exaggerated allegories pile up in one individual account after another. His writing style definitely gives some depth to the story. However, he should have perhaps gone for less characters and also keep that same writing style all throughout.
