When it comes to #war we all lose. Regardless of who ultimately “wins” the belligerent and savage act of war leaves no room for winners. As an ethnic #russianbeing forced out of his #homeland in #tajikistan #volos knows that first hand. #hurramabad is the fictional name for #dushanbe The new state of #civilwar and independence has deemed Russians as enemies and they have to go whether or not they can ever find elsewhere a new homeland. In this particular edition only 7 stories of the 13 #novellas are translated. I would be interested in reading all of them. With the exception of only one story, I did not particularly appreciate Volos simple and almost #fable like approach. I think this is a good book to understand the intricacies of any group in the midst of a raid and violent change of power. I just wish Volos would have also explored the role of all groups, particularly the Russians in invading, conquering, abusing, stealing, deceiving, etc. All groups have blood on their hands. #andreivolos #russianliterature#tajik #stalinabad #волос #душанбе#тоҷикистон #Хуррамабад #glas#nowinners
