I’m obviously on a mission to read every single one of the #ohioshortstoriesofafrica . Here’s my fourth one! And that’s also how I discovered #ingridjonker . #jonker ‘s life is eerily familiar with that of #sylviaplath . Although #louiseviljoen really takes the reader in two voyages: #southafrica at the time and that of Jonker’s #poetry . Ingrid Jonker: #poetunderapartheid is not a wikipedia article or your usual bio with unfounded gossips or fantasy projections on the mythical character her persona has become since her suicide. As the outstanding #biographer that she is, Viljoen prefers to tell the story from her poems, factual and researched information, #southafrican history and then some lines on people’s fascination with the poetess. If like me, you know nothing of this South African literary figure, this #biography should be your way to go. And while you’re at it, check out the entire series as well. You won’t be disappointed. #highlyrecommended #southafricanliterature #capetown #strand #clifton #janrabie #uyskrige #jackcope #andrébrink #diekindwatdoodgeskietisdeursoldatebynyanga #afrikaanseletterkunde #afrikaans
