Two topics already so widely written about in literature, they get their #alameddine treatment in this book. It defies any rational thinking to reckon with the fact that #koolaids was Alameddine’s #debut novel. These pages are a highly accomplished roller coaster into a world of repackaging everything they were always taught and somehow make it their own anyway. Talking about #aids and #homosexuality and #arabsociety and #lebanesewar and #tradition and #identitycan take its toll. However #rabihalameddine employs the likes of #cortazar #eleanorroosevelt and #tomcruise to lead the way. 😉 But to where? 🤔 To more #death ? To more suffering? I’m going to let you read it by yourself. I can’t recommend this masterpiece enough.
