Before the magnanimous, academic and American #nabokov there was V.Sirin. #sirin was the #pseudonym he used to write his first stories specially those during his #berlin years. #luzhindefense is the perfect example of this time. The characters are clearly in transit, going nowhere and left stranded either voluntary or victims of their own intense feelings. Despite how much Nabokov disliked Berlin, there’s clearly something very #zweig and #doblin in the #obsessed and #clumsy#genius called Luzhin.
