This book felt to me more of a music video rather than an actual literary story. Dare I say that I wish #moonstone had been longer and less sparse. Maybe it was the FSG edition but the whole book felt more of a conceptual idea than an actual story. I know this will please a lot of the visual people here on IG. But I’d much rather have a captivating and mind-blowing story written in font 12, times new roman, no pictures and in a pdf. To me content is everything, the story is everything. Having said that, I did enjoy #sjon ‘s #poetic prose in a #historicalfiction setting. I felt all of the #isolation and finding #beauty in our lives despite #epidemics#misinformation and #homophobiawere portrayed very vividly. I also wish this book had been longer just because I would have loved to hear more about #mani and how his mind and emotions adapted to so many changes happening within the #icelandic society.
