So excited when I initially got this book mostly because of its premise. A talking cat in a gay bar?!?! Hell yeah I wanna read it. 🙂 A couple of pages in, you know you’re in for something deeper and more powerful. It was refreshing and obviously tragic to read characters that reflect the complexities and humanities of #refugees What happens when you are a woman forced into marriage and a refugee? How does it feel to be a #gay man and a refugee? All that #intersectionality more than just another trendy academic term is really fully and vividly depicted through these two lives with their up and downs. And how do they ultimately navigate what lives throws at them?
