I’m going to call it a mix between #frankenstein and #lolita with hints of #kawabata set in #gothic and gloomy #glasgow . It’s #darkhumor and #fantasy with a heavy dosis of #medicaltexts and highly passionate letters. I absolutely adored the beginning. Who hasn’t ever imagined the possibility of bringing someone back to life after a suicide? What if there was a way of doing just that and perhaps even (re)form that person’s personality? What if that #reincarnation was just a metaphor for reconstructing our own past failures and disappointments? #gray does offer one way forward in the figure of Dr. #baxter . One path which it’s initially frowned upon and criticized but also quickly embraced and reflective of our own hidden desires. A critique of Glasgow’s society and #scottishat large takes center stage during those pages.
