There are literally hundreds of characters in the story. #boullosa plays with the overwhelming amount of characters to glue them all Frankenstein style into this amorphous monster called the #usmexicanborder . Boullosa also plays with historical facts to give us a more personal and human perspective on the historical tragedies and traumas at the #border . Her writing style reminded me of #garcíamárquez and #chronicleofadeathforetold . If you’re interested in the history of the region, this is a great read.
