#thehungrytide is a hauntingly beautiful story. I know #amitavghosh is massively famous in some circles. But this is only my second encounter with his writing style. Needless to say, I was very impressed all throughout. Writers interested in telling the story of the #environmental disaster and doom which humanity has purposely created should take some lessons from #ghosh . How to incorporate so many elements from #identity , #humanstruggle to #sociopolitical crisis and a #lovestory all in a little over 300 pages. I think that more of a story, Ghosh is here to transport us to a different world/universe which the more it becomes distant from us, the more it resembles us all. Engrossing and vivid since the first page, it was very difficult to put down. I don’t know that many writers who have the ability to entice and build stories which are captivating and complex at the same time. #highlyrecommended #marinerbooks#houghtonmifflinharcourt #sundarbans#bayofbengal #canning #bengal#westbengal #calcutta #sundarbarn#indianliterature #ganges
