As I have mentioned before, I’m concentrating on a #rereadmarathon for #jan2019 . The books chosen are those who got the 2nd place and almost won my best book of the month since I opened this account in Jan 2017. The fact that they were all my almost most #favoritebook for every month means it’s just great to #reread books which I know for sure I’m going to love. However it has been an eye-opening experience insofar as to how much of the same stories I read over and over again. Take #theliberatedbride for example. #yehoshuais one of my favorite writers and one I have managed to read extensively. And if you have as well, you will notice right away one thing in every one of his books: there are a lot of mini stories connected by one thing, the #truth or the need to search for a seemingly elusive truth. The characters, be it #jews #muslims #christians #israelis or #palestinians are obsessed with searching for the real reasons why things have happened to them. They can’t possibly move forward without knowing what triggered everything. In their own quest to look for answers, they find none and instead they manage to create something new and even transform themselves. I’m glad I began this reading challenge with this particular book. Similar to most characters here, I was also obsessed with the details in the story which should lead me to understand the twists and intrigues I already know are going to happen. Grossman dances with Tel Aviv and Oz atones with #Jerusalem while Yehoshua marries #Haifa: secular, divorced, gay, Arab and Jewish Haifa. I strongly believe that Mr. #Yehoshua has an outstanding master of the modern novel. This is my 3rd Book by him and I’m convinced that he has a superhuman skill at writing intricate, compelling and deep fiction. Sometimes this is all done to the expense of impulsiveness and abrupt changes and irrational feelings. But I personally do not care at all.
