An #anthology of #folktales from all across #burma . #janphilippsendker gifts us the opportunity to wonder, marvel and be enchanted. #thelongpathtowisdomresembles a Pandora’s box or a Scheherazade trying to entice you into #burmese mythology, #folklore and ancient wisdom. It’s also a collection of #stories in touch with the most horrific chapters of the country’s history. A feeling of intense dialogue and conflict permeates most of the stories. My only disappointment is that I would have wanted to 1) get more info on where in #myanmar is the story from or whether it belongs to a particular ethnic group, and 2) how #sendker himself managed to collect these stories.
