The more you read, the more they tell you, the more you hear, the less you understand. #thesealwife by #kathrynharrison has been called #sparse because of its setting in the relentless and unforgiving #alaskanlandscape. And I do agree to some extent. #harrison gives us both sparse when it comes to her writing style as well as in the actual story. Left without too much understanding to do, the reader needs to feel and to guess and to predict… to #forecast both the #weatherconditions which can decide your immediate survival as well as the characters’ emotions which can decide your ultimate interest. This is definitely a mysterious and a perfect candidate for a reread. Too many things and feelings are left to the reader to elucidate and imagine. I’d #recommend it only if you’re into #misunderstood characters and unforgiving yet stunning Alaskan landscapes. #randomhouse #anchorage#aleut #weatherforecast#americanliterature #alaska#disappearing #nowords #betrayal#winterstorm
