The facts are important here: small #ukrainian town, a #judicial dispute, 2 #oldfriends and a #pig . But this bit of picaresque information only takes you so far. For the rest #nikolaigogolemploys his literary prowess to plunge you into a hilarious, fast and tragic ride. Absolutely great little story! It’s #gogol so you know you’re always up for some greatness. However there are some higher levels of awesomeness here. This is more of your #ukrainian countryside story. The characters are locked in this circle of politeness, jealousy and betrayal which Gogol managed to render sarcastic and absurd. I’m always a fan of a good #courtscene and you get it here.
