What impressed me the most in this book is Canetti’s clear description of the different worlds which he inhabits when speaking different languages. Even more importantly, I was glad to read someone explain so vividly how these “worlds” evolve over time whether we want it or not and how it all becomes almost like a battle between all these experiences. The addictive quest for knowledge and the blessing of ignorance become two competing forces which end up in frontal confrontation in Canetti’s world.
