The #ohioshortstoriesofafrica might probably be the best thing I’ve discovered in a very long time. I stumbled upon this tiny yet deeply educational book in my undeterred quest to feature a book set in #burkinafaso . Much like this treasure of a book, #thomassankara was a short-lived yet massively influential #burkinabè president. His political weakness was the fact that he believed way too much in people, especially those around him. #ernestharsch and the #universityofohiopress do such an outstanding and detailed job at explaining the local and international contexts which both helped shape #sankara ‘s philosophy and also ultimately brought his demise. Despite all the writings on the wall and the elements against him, Sankara believed in his people and his ideas and he was relentless to see them implemented and also lived by his own example. I’m now obsessed with this entire series from the #universityofohio . So please do expect to see more on this feed. #highlyrecommended #saharalit#ouagadougou #burkinafaso#burkinabe #mossi #fulani#coupdetat #africanstudiesbooklist#vagaga #ouaga #bobodioulasso
