With #threesolidstones by #mvungi , we go #hinterland to Tanzania’s central plateau and hear #ancestral stories from the #hehe and #Bena people. As explained in her intro, Mvungi also strives to give readers a taste of her own angle, her own perspective and learning from #shortstories she grew up with. There are a few stories that I enjoyed tremendously: #theguardianbird , #mwipenzathekiller , #theidenticaltwins among others. These stories are #morbid , #macabre and filled with endless twists which are both #magical and #nightmarish . They reminded me of Kenya’s #graceogot writing 10 years earlier than Mvungi.
