This book is quite impactful and transformative in a #svetlanaalexievich kind of way. Sometimes the horrors of real life go beyond anything fiction could have ever imagined. #chernobyl is the perfect example of that. I’m a huge fan of #alexievich and her incisive, obsessive and direct look at what we would have preferred to ignore and forget. Alexievich becomes the troublemaker writer par excellence. In these stories, she masterfully combines her outstanding journalistic skills with her grasp on storytelling.
